Fashion and theatrical costume design students at Stephens College relied on the Costume Museum and Research Library as a resource for learning about the history of dress from the 18th century to the present. Exhibitions were an opportunity to engage the entire campus and Columbia, Missouri community. Under my leadership, local independent movie theater Ragtag provided screenings related to the exhibition “The Joan Crawford Effect “ (2017). Creative writing faculty regularly brought their students to the exhibitions for writing prompts and used the gallery for public readings of student work.
